About Us


Peter Maskell Auctions CC (PMA) has been in operation for the past 20 years. It commenced trading as a Sole Proprietorship in March 1990 and thereafter registered as a Close Corporation in 1999. Having had vast experience in sales of assets vesting in Insolvent, Liquidated and Deceased Estates and specialising in property sales, Peter Maskell Auctions is able to offer a top class service.
Having a head office based in Pietermaritzburg servicing Natal and conducting sales throughout the Country, Peter Maskell Auctions has developed a long standing relationship with Banks, Liquidators and Financial Institutions nationally.
CONTROL MEASURES

All projects are dealt with by Mr Peter Maskell who is directly involved in the daily administration of the project thus providing direct access to the client`s staff for problem solving.

We have formulated various control measures within our Company and the following structures have been implemented in order to meet all service level requirements:-

Single Point of Entry (quality control):

We believe that in order to provide an effective service it is imperative that a single point of entry exists in order to deal with queries or problem solving.
Account/sales returns:

Queries relating to accounting and sales returns are dealt with by Julie Van Rooyen.
Auction/Setup and Dispatch:

Mr Peter Maskell and Mr Anton Ndlovu jointly oversee the Auction setup and dispatch and are jointly responsible for this function.
We have a proven track record in the auction industry and have over 20 years experience and believe that through our modern techniques we are able to provide a comprehensive service to our clients.

Continuity of Service Levels

Peter Maskell and Seone Maskell oversee continuity of service levels jointly.
In order to ensure continuity and the continued improvement of the level of service provided by the service provider to our clients the following strategies have been implemented:-

An initial strategic conference is held between our clients and the service provider in order to establish time lines, communication channels and reporting structures for the duration of the contract.
~ Site meeting is held between our client`s representative and the service providers prior to all auctions.
~ De- briefing is held between the client and the service providers after each and every auction to” Brainstorm” new and innovative practices to enhance the levels of services provided to our clients.
ASSET KNOWLEDGE / RECOVERY PROCESS

We have extensive knowledge across a broad range of asset groups including both immovable and movable property. This knowledge gained over a period of over 20 years.

We provide valuation services to numerous liquidators, trustees,attorneys and commercial clients for the purpose of disposal, sales , estates , liquidations and commercial finance.
We provide a wide range of services to our commercial clients, these include:-
~Tracing and upliftment of motor vehicles /trucks /plant subject to installment sale/lease agreements.
~Collection of funds in the OBRS Environment for Absa Bank(Registered with the Debt Collectors Board)
~Tracing and upliftment of movable assets subject to installment sale agreements.
~Tracing and upliftment of movable assets on behalf of trustees
~Tracing and upliftment of movable assets on behalf of liquidators
~Overseeing the compiling of financial questionnaires;
~Interviewing debtors;
~Overseeing and obtaining municipal details;
~Servicing of Cession of Rentals;
~Attending to valuation of fixed properties and vehicles;
~Signature of new lease agreements;
~On ground collection of rentals;
~Arranging service of legal documents;
~Investigative and recovery services.
A large portion of our current services with valuations being conducted on a daily basis and our valuation and appraisal capabilities comprise a wide range of industries including movable and immovable assets. Aims:

We believe in essence that every estate should be dealt with individually and on its own merits.
The focus should not be on fee size, but on maximising recovery through improved realisation techniques and investigative and recovery capabilities.
We furthermore, pride ourselves on service excellence and feel we
would be in a position to add a valuable contribution to the process
of corporate recovery through modern realisation techniques.
Adding value:

We have extensive knowledge of the asset disposal process and requirements and as such believe we are able to offer a substantial contribution through our modern realisation techniques and investigative capabilities. We have furthermore established an extensive infrastructure in order to provide any service a liquidator or corporate client may require in the winding up of any matter.

We confirm that our company is BEE compliant and we currently have a shareholding of 40% owned by previously disadvantaged individuals (PDI`s).
Size doesn`t matter:

Outdoor undercover parking space for approximately 60 passenger & 1 ton vehicles

Storage space/office - +/- 3 000 square metres
Further truck yard - 3 000 square metres
Security includes:
24 Hr security guard

The property is fenced with a concrete fence on three sides and the frontage is palisade fencing.
